Responsible for E-Commerce and IT infrastructure design, implementation & maintenance for the company.
I managed a team of marketers, developers, analysts, and consultants that performed daily changes, enhancements and bug fixes on multiple, high-performance B2B/B2C Magento websites (and other enterprise-level platforms). I served daily as an effective liaison between Marketing and IT groups.
Our Magento websites integrate directly with SAP R/3 ERP platform using custom middleware that allows for high availability. We also interface with many third-party SaaS platforms including Salesforce.com, Adobe Scene7 Image Rendering, Melissa Data address verification, Google Adwords, Google Analytics, CLS Shipping Consolidator and more.

2021/2022: Datacenter Upgrades plus Adobe Commerce 2.4
New datacenter upgrades including new IBM SAN, Dell ESXi hosts & 40Gbps switches. Also performed update to Adobe Commerce 2.4. Project included simultaneous major upgrades to MySQL, PHP, Redis, Elasticsearch and more.
2019/2020: Upgrade from Magento 1 to Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce)
Performed a major update to Magento 2.2 using in-house resources and contract developers ($150,000 project). We had a successful launch in early 2021 and the platform performed very well. Complex product pages: TTFB 150ms, First Contentful Paint 492ms, Time to Interactive 1.6s, Fully Loaded Time 2.9s
2018: Performance Improvements to Magento
Expanded app server farm to better accommodate Amazon.com and Jet.com order flows while providing faster cache recovery after deploys. Successfully tested proof-of-concept using Percona XtraDB Cluster (four master DBs). Integrated Bronto Email solution with Magento. A renewed focus on Call Center tools and performance optimization. Have started a brand refresh using best-practice testing techniques.
2017 Q4: Another New Website on Magento
$50,000 project. Re-built a third brand's E-commerce site from the ground-up (Restaurant Discount Warehouse). All new design leveraging existing integrations with SAP ERP and Salesforce via custom middleware. The customer experience has been greatly improved and sales are up! Pick, Pack, Ship efficiencies are up 10X. The project was completed ON TIME and UNDER BUDGET, thanks to improved processes and tracking via LiquidPlanner.
2017 Q2: New Website on Magento
$50,000 project. Our team completed a 9-month project to launch a new E-Commerce site for a totally new brand (Brandera). We juggled resources and maintained our existing site while continually adding new features. Added over 10,000 new SKUs, plus created an apparel customization engine written in-house, from scratch, using Fabric.js. Switched from Jira to LiquidPlanner for better resource planning. It has really improved the accuracy of our completion dates as we finished ON TIME and UNDER BUDGET.
2015: Major Magento Upgrade
To improve performance and add functionality, invested 3 months to update to the latest major version of Magento Enterprise (v1.14). Had to continually merge new features into to both versions while performing ongoing UAT. Upgraded all PROD hardware.
2013: Migrated to Magento
$150,000 Project. E-Marketing goals called for a more nimble platform. I recommended, designed and oversaw a 12-month project to totally overhaul our e-commerce software to Magento Enterprise v1.12. All new code base with updated business logic. On-site production environment (100% VMWare) consists of (2) HTTP/Application Servers (Public/Admin) and (2) Database Servers (MySQL Master/Slave). Offsite cloud servers (AWS) are on standby with data updates nightly. The change has been a HUGE improvement, allowing us to rapidly test/implement new concepts. Sales are up 14% YoY due to efforts. Consolidated all projects into Jira for streamlined code flow and issue management.
2011: Upgraded WebSphere
Completed a 6-month project to upgrade IBM WebSphere Commerce to version 7. Oversaw code migration, hardware upgrades, business logic and end-user testing. Fully migrated to 100% VMware vCenter environment. On-site production environment consisted of HTTP Server, Application Server, Primary Database Server (IBM DB2) and Standby Database Server in HADR configuration.
2007: Implemented IBM WebSphere & SAP r/3
$500,000 Project. When company needs outgrew capabilities, oversaw site migration to IBM WebSphere Commerce solution (v.6) plus SAP r/3 ERP. Designed and implemented hardware stack for Dev, Test and Production. Implemented over 750 bug fixes and enhancements within first 4 years. In addition to all platforms mentioned above, also interfaced with IBM Coremetrics Analytics and ExactTarget Email Service Provider. It was MUCH more than we needed at the time, but we planned ahead for the next 20+ years.
